MohrFracs Histograms

MohrFracs Histogram view, opened from the Histograms strip (Mohrfracs > Slip Analysis > Histograms) enables the user to generate a histogram of the selected output parameter (Coulomb Failure Function, Critical Pore Pressure, Critical Depletion / Injection, Critical Friction) as well as fracture frequency vs. depth (Fracture Depth).

For all histograms, the user can choose to include critically stressed and/or not critically stressed fractures (both fracture types is the default). If a given fracture type is checked in the histogram window then number N of corresponding fractures within specified depth range is listed in the histogram. The window automatically updates if the fractures to be analyzed is changed. The default depth range for fractures analyzed and appearing in a histogram is equal to the analysis depth range (see the Slip Analysis popup) but the user can change it by editing top and bottom depths in the histogram view options section.

The histogram plots should be used in Individual Fractures mode because this guarantees that the output parameters are exactly calculated from the stress model at the corresponding fracture depths (whereas for the Set of Fractures mode a representative stress state is taken at the mid-depth of the analysis interval in order to be able to compare fractures in one stereoplot and one Mohr diagram).

You can adjust how the data is visualized in the view using the view options panel, opened from the toolbar ().

Input options

Input  Select the input data used for the histogram calculation.

Range  Specify depth range for the histogram using data from casing sections or from the user defined MD window.

Analyze for casing  Histogram depth range is taken from the selected casing section.

MD  The histogram depth range is defined by the user and can be modified by clicking into the entry field and typing a new value. By default, this range is automatically set using the measured depths (MDs) of the shallowest and deepest analyzed fractures in the dataset.

Display  Specify parameters for the histogram visualization.

Min  Histogram values minimum.

Max Histogram values maximum.

# of bins  Number of histogram bins. You can change the number of bins using the up /down arrow, or by clicking in the entry field and typing a new value

Visibility To calculate the histogram, select which fracture data should be included in the analysis. By default, both critically stressed and not critically stressed fractures are considered during histogram calculation, but you can adjust these settings based on your analysis requirements.

Refresh  If any of the input parameters are changed, you must press this button to recalculate the histogram using the updated inputs. This ensures that the histogram reflects the most current data and analysis settings.
